Sarasota Tourist Information
| Sarasota, Florida is known as “The Cultural Coast of Florida” for good reason. Aside from having the most beautiful beach in the world, Sarasota boasts over 100 art galleries, world class ballet, opera, music, films, and museums.
The beaches of Sarasota County on Southwest Florida’s Gulf coast are world-famous, but the sophistication of the area surprises some newcomers. The county’s high per capita income supports a wide variety of recreational activities and arts organizations including theater, ballet, opera and international film festivals usually found only in larger urban areas. In fact, Southern Living magazine recently named Sarasota County “the nation’s per capita arts capital Siesta Key is blessed with a nearly perfect subtropical climate. The average annual temperature is a pleasant 74 degrees! Extreme temperatures are moderated by Gulf of Mexico breezes, so that it is rarely under 60 degrees during the winter or over 90 degrees in the summer. |
